Robophobia: Why We Fear AI & How to Embrace Its Potential

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Before fully realizing the potential of AI in financial services, we must first overcome a surprising but significant obstacle: our fear of, or at least lack of understanding of, the technology. There is an undercurrent of concern--perhaps justified--that the AI revolution could deteriorate into the totalitarian state in George Orwell's novel or that the robots will take our corner offices. In this though-provoking session, David Shrier, a globally recognized authority on financial innovation, explores the ethics and opportunity of AI. He asserts that, for all of the optimistic talk of AI's applications, we will repeat the mistakes of the past if we don’t handle this technology disruption differently. David is joined by John D'Agostino, a Wall Street innovator who boldly revolutionized the development of capital markets for oil in the Middle East and now turn his sights to disruptive technologies in fintech. Join David and John for an enlightening conversation on the transformative power of AI and how we can face our fear to embrace its potential.
