Asiff Hirji is President and Chief Operating Officer of Coinbase. Mr. Hirji runs Coinbase day-to-day and is focused on scaling current businesses and launching new ones.

Prior to Coinbase, Mr. Hirji was a Private Equity & Venture Capital Investor and Advisor. As an Operating Advisor with Andreessen Horowitz he focused on helping its highest potential portfolio companies scale faster. As a Senior Advisor with Bain Capital he helped drive its technology investment efforts. Prior to working in the venture capital space, Asiff served as Chief Restructuring Officer of HP, co-leading the turnaround of HPE and the sale of HP Software. He also held various senior roles at TD Ameritrade, including President, COO and CIO.

Mr. Hirji serves on the boards of Saxo Bank, RentPath, TES Global and Eze Software. Mr. Hirji is a lecturer at the Haas School of Business, Berkeley where he teaches a highly rated and over-subscribed second year MBA course on private equity.

Mr. Hirji received an MBA with honors from Canada’s best business school, The University of Western Ontario, and his Bachelor’s of Computer Science from The University of Calgary.
