Tom Poole leads Capital One's investments in digital payments and identity, including partnerships with third party payment solutions and wallets, development of the Capital One Wallet mobile app, and ongoing efforts to make ecommerce easier and better for Capital One customers. On the identity front, Tom leads Capital One's Enterprise customer identification and authentication work aimed at ensuring customers have secure, convenient experiences with all Capital One products. Tom’s previous experience at Capital One includes many years spent learning the fundamentals of payments, security, and fraud prevention, all of which is proving to be a great foundation for the work he does today. Tom holds an MBA from the University of Virginia and a Finance degree from Virginia Tech. Before joining Capital One, Tom was a software engineer, a profession which he foolishly left for his MBA. In his free time, Tom geeks out on robotics, tinkering with new technologies, taking apart mechanical watches, and teaching sub-par basketball skills to his four children. Tom, his wife, and children reside in Fairfax, Virginia.
